Barcelona to Host Inaugural Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday

Barça revealed they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host the Basque side in La Liga two and a half years following their departure so building work could begin.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. Once fully finished, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said finished work included an updated entryway for the team along with upgraded changing facilities.

Preparatory Events

The club conducted a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch earlier this month. The club said approval is being pursued from European football’s governing body for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side next month at Camp Nou. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
