World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association player of the year for a second successive season.
The twenty-seven-year-old captured four titles – the highest tally on the circuit – including successfully defending the US Open in September against Amanda Anisimova to secure her fourth Grand Slam singles triumph.
Across the season, Sabalenka played in a circuit-leading nine finals, with losses coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.
The Belarusian also claimed victory at the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She spent the entire year as the world number one, finishing 2025 on top of the rankings for a second straight year.
This past summer, she became the first athlete to top 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams in 2015.
Sabalenka finished the competitive year with a 63-12 match record, and earned a record £11m in earnings.
She garnered nearly eighty percent of the votes submitted by global tennis journalists.
Later this month, she is poised to compete against 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match with the aim of "help bring women's tennis to a greater prominence".
Recently, Carlos Alcaraz secured three awards in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Awards, which included the season-ending top rank award, while Jannik Sinner was chosen as fans' favourite for a third time.
