A plane carrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was required to make an unscheduled landing in the Britain on Wednesday due to a fissure was found in the jet's front window, according to an official announcement which stated that Hegseth was safe.
"The plane touched down following standard procedures and all individuals on the flight, such as Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," an official representative said in a social media post.
Hegseth was returning from a short visit to Brussels at the time.
This event does not mark the first time that a US military aircraft carrying a top government figure has encountered equipment failures.
