The Opening Game Pass Titles of 2026 Reveal Xbox Is Still Fighting.

In numerous discussions, fans keep sounding the funeral bells for the Xbox brand. The platform was lately surpassed in sales by a lesser-known competitor. Dedicated Xbox communities have started writing regarding Sony's platform for the first time. The past year represented complete chaos for Xbox and Microsoft. But if we're going solely off the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it is apparent that Xbox still intends to attract subscribers with compelling titles on its flagship service.

The Available Now Titles

The two games you can play right now today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. Instead, the excitement lies in what's arriving to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's truly noteworthy.

Significant Forthcoming Releases

On Jan. 13, the platform will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that deviates from the standard Ubisoft formula with a cosmic robbery tale. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, previously described as "the perfect cocktail of terror and combat."

Compelling Indie Titles

However, the more modest titles arriving shortly on the service are noteworthy here. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, an unjustly ignored roguelite that is incredibly fun, drops on Jan. 7th — and it's worth experiencing whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.

This UK-developed survival title from last year might get its hooks in you remarkably quickly.

Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by the developers behind Sniper Elite, is another one to watch. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.

A Solid, Curated Lineup

In summary, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, and they are also not first-party juggernauts that justify the service by themselves. But Microsoft's additions here are very dependable. There's a good mixture of past releases that passed you by and fairly new titles that lacked the recognition they warranted upon launch — transforming them into perfect candidates to find a new audience on Game Pass.

Be prepared to part ways with The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
