Unveiling an Bizarre Steam Game Trial: Playing as a Piece of Feces with the Goal to Reach the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is currently underway, and enthusiasts have encountered a variety of engaging creations from small studios. Yet, one stands out for its unconventional concept. Titled Unko Technica, this classic-feel platformer lets you play a protagonist that is actually a piece of poop attempting to travel to a toilet. As a fun fact, "Unko" is Japanese for "poop."

How you interact is straightforward: just use a jump control. Across one hundred fifty stages, battle mini-bosses and unlock a store to acquire skins for your fecal avatar.

Execute your actions carefully, since one wrong move forces starting over. Leap using air pockets to hurl yourself to new heights, cross disappearing surfaces, and touch buttons to unlock secret routes. Gather coins for buying tougher stages in which gameplay intensifies.

Visually, the experience shows off eye-catching environments and catchy background music. Its minimalist art with morphing abstract forms may remind players of old favorites like Earthbound.

Even though hard to think of similar titles where you play as a coiled turd, interactive entertainment frequently incorporated toilet humor. For example, in Death Stranding, players create grenades from character excrement. Examples include Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved employ feces as plant food. And of course, this theme is present extensively in Obsidian's adventure The Stick of Truth.

Regardless of its goofy concept, Unko Technica has already received notable accolades, like taking top honors at Bandai Namco's indie contest in 2023. The demo is accessible currently on Steam, with the final release scheduled to debut on Steam this November.
